#RedMi is a smartphone brand manufactured by Xiaomi, that was first announced in July 2013. Redmi phones use the Xiaomi MIUI operating system, a variant of Android. The phones were previously branded under the name HongMi. Models include the Redmi 1, 1S, 2, 3, 3S and 4 and the Redmi Note, Note 2 and Note 3 (which, unlike its predecessors does not have a user-changeable battery, does not support removable Micro SD storage and was launched on November 24, 2015.) Redmi Pro was first introduced in 2016 with Dual Camera system, USB-C and OLED display for the first time in Redmi lineup.

Why Flipkart?

Redmi phones have been marketed in China (including Hong Kong), Taiwan, Singapore, Nepal and India. The most significant difference from other Xiaomi smartphones is that it uses less-expensive components and is more consumer-oriented. However, the #Redmi 1S and Redmi Note (4G edition) both have a mid-range Snapdragon 400 series chipset. In August 2014 The Wall Street Journal reported that in the second quarter of the 2014 fiscal year Xiaomi smartphone shipment rankings in China with a market share of 14%. Redmi sales were attributed as a contributing factor toward this gain in shipment rankings.
The RedMi phone released in 2013 was first announced on Xiaomi’s website, with consumer sales beginning on July 12, 2013. When first launched, supply was limited to units for China and 10,000 units for Hong Kong.

The #RedMi Note was announced in March 20, 2014, and was released in July 2014, and uses 3G in dual SIM variant and 4G LTE in single SIM variant. and the 1.7 GHz Octa Core processor by Mediatek. Xiaomi released the Redmi 1S smartphone in July 2014.
On August 4, 2014, The Wall Street Journal reported that in China’s smartphone market, Xiaomi overtook Samsung in the second-quarter of the 2014 fiscal year with a 14% market share in smartphone shipment rankings, while Samsung had a 12% market share during this time. Additionally, Yulong and Lenovo both had a 12% market share during this time. Redmi sales were attributed as contributing to Xiaomi’s increased shipment rankings in the smartphone market. Conversely, in the first-quarter of 2014, Xiaomi held a 10.7% market share.
In July 2016, Chinese artists – Liu Shishi, Wu Xiubo and Liu Haoran became the first ambassadors of Xiaomi’s Redmi series in China. Redmi Pro was appeared as Pro lineup in Redmi series.
In January 2017, The Xioami RedMi Note 4 based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Chipset became company’s first major launch of 2017. In China, the Redmi Note 4 comes running on MediaTek Helio X20 chipset.
Xiaomi has launched three variants of the Redmi Note 4, after enjoying huge success with its predecessor Redmi Note 3, at a starting price of Rs 9,999 — the variant that sports the 2GB RAM/32 GB storage option. The 3GB RAM/32 GB storage option is priced at Rs 10,999 and the 4GB/64 GB storage option is priced at Rs 12,999.
The Redmi Note 4 is currently available in Grey, Gold and Silver colour options with the Matte Black coming soon.

Specifications

In terms of actual specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes in a metal unibody design with a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel. At its core, the Redmi Note 4 comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, which comes with Adreno 506 GPU.
The dual-SIM (Micro+Nano) Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 runs MIUI 8-based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) 2.5D curved glass IPS display with a 401ppi pixel density. Powered by the Snapdragon 625 SoC, it comes with 3GB and 4GB of RAM, depending on the SKU.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4’s rear camera bears a 13-megapixel CMOS sensor equipped with PDAF (phase detection autofocus), an f/2.0 aperture, 77-degree wide angle lens, and dual-tone LED flash. The front camera sports a 5-megapixel CMOS sensor, coupled with an 85-degree wide angle lens. Expandable storage is available on the Redmi Note 4 via a hybrid dual-SIM card configuration, supporting microSD cards (up 128GB).
As for connectivity, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 offers 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/g/b/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, Micro-USB, and Infrared. The Redmi Note 4 draws power from a 4,100 mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 follows in the footsteps of the Redmi Note 3 and Redmi 3S, which were among the top selling devices online last year. The Redmi Note 3, in particular, saw a lot of success in the Indian market with over 2.3 million units sold within six months of launch. However, that model is almost a year old now, and on Thursday Xiaomi finally launched the Redmi Note 4 in the Indian market.
